Collaborative Contexts
Cécile Pitois investigates the relationship between beings and the spaces that surround them. This approach is materialized through various work processes and media. During an exhibition for the Crossing the Line program at the French Institute Alliance Française in New York, the artist gave choreographers carte blanche to create a performance interacting with her installation entitled inhale-exhale from A to C. She was subsequently commissioned by one of the choreographers to stage a performance at Danspace in Saint Mark’s Church, New York. Recently, the artist invited a British composer, Stevie Wishart, to collaborate on the first presentation of a form of sound and visual operetta.
Under the direction of the “Artistes-Entreprises” program launched by the Centre de Création Contemporaine agency in Tours, the artist has developed four projects related to printing firms and wineries.
