Original title: “Trafalgar Square ou un Souvenir de Londres”, first shown at the I.C.A in London and the C.C.C. in Tours. In the center of this London square, pigeons have made their home on the four bronze lions that surround the Nelson column, delighting tourists and despairing city dwellers alike. There are territorial areas we don’t think much about, but which nevertheless govern our daily lives: those that mark the boundary between human and animal. Here, Cécile Pitois proposes an installation in the form of a mental outlet. After burning slowly, the object is gradually transformed and spreads across the pink carpet.
